Sohar, in the Sultanate of Oman, is a rapidly expanding world class port.

Sohar is a city located in the Al Batinah Region of the Sultanate of Oman, 240 kilometers north-west of the capital Muscat. Sohar was an ancient capital of Oman. Many believe Sohar to be the birthplace of Sindbad the Sailor. It has a rich sailing history. Sohar is traditionally a fishing town and has a fish souk.

Introduction …


Radio is a piece of equipment that you use to

listen to programmes that are broadcast, such as

music and news So, it is very important in our lives

without it, you will feel bored and you don't know

what happens in the world. Many people use the

radio in the car. The radio producer produces

programmes everyday. The increasing number of

radio channels will make our world like a small

village. I think it is growing everyday.


History of the radio


The world's first commercial radio service was

in 1898. It's fledgling wireless telegraph and

signal company's customer was Lloyd's of London,

the shipping insurer. For Lloyd's a spark wireless

telegraph transmitter was installed on Rathim

Island, 7.5 miles (12. kms) off the Irish coast. and

news in bound ships was send by international

mores code to a receiver on the mainland.

Communicate proved to be unaffected by storms,

fog, or a high cliff in the transmission path.


Broadcasting in other Countries:

In most European countries radio broadcasting

was thrust into patterns of organization and

development quite different from those in the

Actually the radio is an important thing which makes

discover the outside word. Now days, many people use

the radio to listen to music news and songs. Some people

listen the radio they feet a lot of joy when they listen to

songs. The radio is easy to buy and to use, also, it does

not consume much electricity. The car without radio is

very boring to drive.



The Radio in our Country "Oman" :

In 1975, the radio in the sultanate of Oman English FM

started making programs in a small studio in Muscat.

In 1984 it started brood easting from salalah. Then

it moved too big modern studio in 1988. There

were 4 programmers per day in 1975. There were

programmes per day in 1980 . In 1970, there were

5 full time employees. In 1980, there were 7 of

full time employees.

So, you can listen to news programmes such as,

world news and news twelve. You can listen to

comedy such as let’s laugh.
